How to Renew an Arkansas Medical Marijuana Card

Arkansas lets you renew your medical marijuana card up to 60 days before it expires. You need a new physician written certification and another $50 ADH fee. Telehealth is allowed for recertification only — not for a first-time card.

When you can renew

Start up to 60 days before the expiration date on your registry card. Renewing early does not shorten the next card term once ADH approves the filing.

Step 1 — Get a new physician certification

Book an Arkansas-licensed MD or DO for renewal. Recertification may use telehealth. First-time certification stays in person. Book an Arkansas medical marijuana doctor.

Step 2 — Apply again at the ADH portal

File at mmj.adh.arkansas.gov. Pay the $50 state fee (separate from any clinic evaluation fee). Upload a current Arkansas ID if ADH asks.

Step 3 — Wait up to 14 days and print your card

ADH may take up to 14 days after a complete renewal filing. There is no temporary or same-day state card.

What stays the same after renewal

Purchase limit remains 2.5 oz usable marijuana per rolling 14 days at licensed dispensaries. No home grow. Confirm qualifying conditions still apply.
